Steph Wales - That is an amazing photo!!!

Rockhampton Wedding Photography – Carmen & Justin

A bit of time before I met Carmen I’d met her father, Kel. My wife had worked with him and commented enough postive stuff for me to remember the name. A couple of years back I sat right next to him at a friends wedding. A good guy. Heart of gold.

Same goes for Justin’s mother. I’d had a bit to do with Sharon in relation to real estate photography. She too has been good to me- a card before my own wedding back in April last year- little things like that are nice. So thanks. ; ).

With families like these, as well as a lovely collection of friends (some of which I’m proud to call my own)- you’d expect Carmen and Justin to be the people they are. Generous, positive and a bit of fun. And best of all they just seem to make each other happy. While the bridal preparations in the morning went off without a hitch- there was no mistaking how much Carmen was looking forward to seeing Justin. They were just so happy to be re-united at the ceremony.

And while I knew them before our first wedding meeting- I’m happy to say I’ve gotten to know them pretty well over the last year and a bit. Like all good wedding day scenarios- they felt like (and I hope to say ARE) friends of mine.

Rockhampton Wedding Photography – Shannon & Tenille

Meeting with Shannon & Tenille a couple of days before their wedding and it just felt like having coffee with friends. Because it was. These 2 have some strange ability to make you feel good just sitting there. I guess a big part of it is Tenille’s smile. It’s just so happy- and it the perfect symbol of the person she is. Always happy to see you, say gday and ask how your day is going. Shannon’s the same- the kind of guy you can’t help but like. He spent the morning helping set up the reception with the rest of the boys.  A real hands on guy- and it was to not notice that he was more then simply interested in his own wedding. It was only after the day I had the persepctive to see that yes he cared about his wedding day- but he cared much more about Tenille’s. Proof in things like the surprise signs on the drivcway to the ceremony & the slideshow at the reception. Raises the bar of what us boys should do (sometimes a good thing). ; ). Great seeing you guys at Karyn’s & Simon’s- and hope you love the blog. ; ).

Rockhampton Wedding Photography – Ryan & Kim.

Yes it was my 30th birthday on the 6th of August. Lets get that out of the way. It was Ryan and Kim’s big day too. Wedding beats birthday- it’s a no brainer. I would never hope for (let alone expect) special treatment, but thank you guys- you gave it. Generally when the photographer is at the bar grabbing a beer and the groom gives him a disapproving look you know why. Ryan gave me THAT look because I was paying with my own money and tonight was his shout. There’s a whole bunch more to their wedding then how good they were to me- but I just wanted to get it out and I think its part of why I liked these guys so much. It was a day which meant so much more to them then simply 2 people.

The day had some many important factors.  It was a family celebration and they all knew how to party. Their was so many people involved in the day and they were all just so happy to be involved. And while yes it was a party the meaning of the day was never lost on them. Their was so much emotion shown at the ceremony- you couldn’t help but feel it.
