Kylie & Geoff

I remember my first meeting with Kylie & Geoff back at Coffee Club in 2009. I’d like to think we all got along pretty well from the word go- we seemed to have a similar opinion of what wedding photography should be. A good start.. They were planning to have their big day on the Capricorn Coast. We had our engagement shoot down there- got organised, scheduled and I knew it would be a great day to witness.. Fast forward a “few” months and I received an email- the wedding was being moved to the Gold Coast. I didn’t know what my reaction should be? Sad that they had to make such big plan/changes- a bride would had reason to freak out at moving her day. Or child like excitement about shooting down at the Gold Coast (they invited me to follow them down- hooray). Speaking to Kylie about it for the first time I knew she was more excited about it than me. She wasn’t sad about the change- she loved it. Geoff too of course. ; ).
Over the next few months it was great to have them both drop in from time to time and hear about their plans. When I finally got down there on the Friday it was just as I had hoped. Did lunch- scouted for spots- and a huge thank you to Kylie, Geoff, their families, and the entire bridal party for inviting me to tag along with them for the day. I felt like a guest. I had a great room too. Not a bad way to spend the weekend…

Saturday morning- Crowne Plaza. The guys and girls got ready here- both sides of the bridal party had amazing rooms and views. There was a games room downstairs perfect for pre wedding shots. A lovely little chapel for an intimate ceremony, a stretch hummer to drive everyone around. For location shots- we found a great little piece of parkland, and a nice accessible section of beach with the Surfers Paradise Skyline in view. To finish a great reception- classic B&W. A few games for fun- and a unique take on giving away the bouquet. I hope the images tell the rest of their story. ; ).
